I like to include an engagement session with ALL of my wedding packages. It gives me and my new clients a chance to get to know each other, become comfortable.., mesh, gel, click… and basically just get off on the right foot.
If i’m being 100% honest I am always nervous on the drive up to meet new clients. However, there are a few things that I do that makes the first meeting a little less nerve wracking.
- I establish a dialogue before we meet. Whether it’s via text or email, touching base beforehand really helps with breaking the ice. A simple “Just checking in on our shoot tomorrow, *details..*smiley face,;-) is great! This also let’s clients know that you are on top of it!
- I have had sessions at the locations that I offer for engagement sessions DOZENS of times, so I am very familiar with the best spots to shoot and how to get the “look” they want.
- DON’T RUSH!! It may seem like a no brainer, but taking your time will give you a chance to get the best shots. It will also help you and your clients relax into the session.
So back to the pressure, no pressure point…This is your chance to make a great first impression! The most important tip I can offer is to be prepared, smile.. the rest will fall into place.
Cheers-
